2024 Nissan Sentra Review

2024 Nissan Sentra Review

The Nissan Sentra is available in three trims: S, SV and the top-of-the-line SR. Nissan keeps things pretty simple with powertrain options for the Sentra, power comes from a solo engine choice: a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine making 149 horsepower and 146 pound-feet of torque. Nissan mates that engine to an efficient Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) specifically designed to mimic the gears of a traditional automatic transmission. The eight generation Sentra utilizes newly independent rear suspension and dual-pinion-rack electronic power steering. The base model Sentra S is more basic than other versions but is still equipped with plenty of nice features. Air conditioning, cruise control, power door locks and power windows are all generally expected and present. However, more upscale items that come standard on the S include a 7.0-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, a USB port, remote keyless entry, and push-button start. The mid-grade SV adds to the S with 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, 3 USB ports plus one USB-C port, an 8.0-inch touchscreen, Nissan Intelligent Key with Push Button Ignition, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, adaptive cruise control, upgraded cloth seats, and a 7.0-inch digital vehicle info display. The top SR trim comes with everything from the SV plus 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, LED headlights with LED daytime running lights, and dark chrome trim. Numerous safety systems come standard on the Sentra, including anti-lock brakes, traction control and stability control. Nissan Intelligent Mobility with Safety Shield 360 is also standard offering a suite of active safety technology including a blind-spot monitor, lane departure warning, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, and automatic emergency front and rear braking. Sentra also comes equipped with Nissan's Advanced Air Bag System including 10 total airbags for every Sentra.

2024 Nissan Z Review

2024 Nissan Z Review

The Nissan Z comes in three possible trims: Sport, Performance and NISMO. All trims are powered by the same 400 horsepower 3L turbocharged V6 and a choice of 6-speed manual or 9-speed automatic transmissions sending power to the rear wheels. The EPA combined fuel economy is 20 mpg, with 24 mpg on the highway. The NISMO trim is powered by the same engine but tuned for 420 horsepower. Underneath, the Nissan Z's suspension uses double wishbones in front and a multi-link setup in back, all kept under close control with stabilizer bars and sport-tuned shocks. Grip is tremendous and balanced thanks to standard 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with staggered-width summer performance tires. The optional Performance trim brings 19-inch custom forged alloy wheels and even wider tires, along with larger Nissan Sport Brakes, 4-piston front calipers, rear spoiler, and a viscous limited-slip differential. All Nissan Z models feature 4-wheel anti-lock brakes with brake assist, along with electronic brake-force distribution. Nissan Advanced Air Bag System with front seat-mounted side airbags and roof-mounted side-curtain bags are also standard. The clever speed-sensitive power steering is designed to reduce vibrations and major shocks while still transmitting road feel to the driver. The Nissan Z comes standard with LED headlights, Bluetooth hands-free system, 8-inch touchscreen, leather-wrapped steering wheel and Nissan Intelligent Key with push button ignition. The Performance trim adds a 9-inch touchscreen, voice activated navigation, a sport suspension, larger brakes, heated side mirrors, heated front seats, an 8-speaker sound system, real-time traffic and weather, a garage door transmitter, internet access, and wireless device integration and sport pedals. Safety features across the lineup include front and rear parking sensors, lane departure warning, blind spot warning, forward collision mitigation, rear collision warning, and front pedestrian detection.
